Meeting the moment
Canada’s renewable energy fleet is growing and maturing and the work of operating and maintaining it is becoming more complex.
Across wind, solar and energy storage, teams are adapting to new technologies, workforce needs and the ongoing imperative to deliver safe, reliable and affordable power.
The CanREA Operators Summit 2027 is Canada’s only national conference dedicated to renewable energy and energy storage operations and maintenance, bringing together the operators, owners, technicians, asset managers, manufacturers and service providers responding to these challenges from across Canada and, increasingly, the United States.
Over a focused day and a half, attendees will share practical experience, explore solutions and connect with the people helping Canada’s renewable energy sector meet the moment.
Last year, more than 60 speakers brought technical expertise, case studies and lessons learned from across the sector. Building on those conversations, the 2027 program will deliver useful, practitioner-led content focused on the realities of operating renewable energy assets in Canada.
What to expect
The 2027 program will explore the challenges, successes and innovations operators are managing now and preparing for next, including:
- Operational control centres, remote monitoring and advanced solar forecasting
- Wildfire readiness, fire-risk mitigation and critical -infrastructure resilience
- Lessons learned from safety incidents, component failures and on-site operations
- Solar and energy storage operations, including facilitated peer roundtables
- Asset performance optimization, including leading-edge erosion
- Lifetime extension, recycling, repowering and renewable asset lifecycle planning
- Workforce development and exploring workforce considerations for remote projects
- Practical technology demonstrations, poster spotlights and peer networking across wind, solar and energy storage
Sessions will take place in a mix of formats, from technical presentations and case studies to panels, peer discussions and lessons-learned conversations.
Learn from the people doing the work
The Operators Summit is a place to compare notes with people from across the country who bring a broad range of operational expertise. Expect candid conversations about what is working, what is not and what operators need to prepare for as Canada’s clean energy fleet continues to grow and mature.
The Summit is built to create time for connection, not just content. Networking breaks, meals, receptions and time on the exhibitor floor give attendees a chance to meet peers, reconnect with partners and start conversations with the companies providing the tools, technology and expertise that support renewable energy operations.
Toronto is the ideal setting for the national gathering: a highly connected, energetic city that brings together Canada’s clean energy, finance, technology and infrastructure communities.
