ENERCON Canada – Project Execution Manager

Main responsibilities

  • Act as the project management team representative and collaborate with other ENERCON Canada departments (sales, service, finance, HR, etc.) as well as with the ENERCON GmbH global company departments.
  • Manage the project execution team within PM Canada, consisting of GPM, EWM, project engineers and other contract staff. Approximately 8-10 direct reports.
  • Ensure all project activities are in compliance with ENERCON standards and processes. Coordinate overall project requirements in terms of timelines and deliverables with ENERCON GmbH stakeholders.
  • Provide an escalation channel to the project team for issues that arise between ENERCON Canada departments, customers and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with the GPM and PMCs to develop budgets/ schedules and implement the project plan.
  • Ensure ENERCON GmbH procedures in place for civil, electrical and logistics processes are followed.
  • Ensure a high level of collaboration between MOC, Service, Sales and After Sales.
  • Lead the compliance and dissemination of new processes deployed by management.
  • Assume the role of interim in the absence of the director.
  • Participate in meetings with all business unit personnel to discuss the evolution of the global operations;
  • Participate in continuous process improvement.

Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Project Execution Manager will lead multiple wind projects from planning to handover, ensuring that all are completed in a timely and efficient manner. They will assist in the development and implementation of the department’s business plan, which will focus on current and future projects. As well, they will play a key role in the group performance and the achievement of identified business objectives through contract negotiations, budget oversight and team engagement.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree (M. Eng., M. Sc. Eng., MBA) would be an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience (preferable in Project Management)
  • Experience in project management in the construction field
  • Experience in managing logistics and supply chain activities
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage contract negotiation
  • Entrepreneurial and analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Rigor and strong work ethic
  • Ability to motivate and encourage team work with a positive attitude
  • Available to travel 15% of the time to project sites, across Canada and occasionally to ENERCON’s headquarters in Germany.
