Job Description:

ENERCON is currently looking for Health & Safety Trainer for its training center, located in Boucherville.

The Training Center offers technical training in health & safety, mechanical, electrical and related to our tools /work equipment. These training programs are intended for employees, subcontractors, as well as external customers from various fields. Our team is made up of 4 trainers, one coordinator and an organizational development specialist. Reporting to the training center manager, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct theoretical training and provide practical training 
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical trainers in regard to health & safety components
  • Act as a prevention consultant while providing a rewarding experience for participants
  • Adapt German’s headquarters trainings to Canadian legislation.
  • Collaborate with the health, safety and environment team to develop training, content and materials
  • Evaluate participants progression for knowledge and skills
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment
  • During the summer, visit and spend time on sites across Canada and observe the work of wind technicians in order to adjust the content of the training to their reality
  • Assess workplace processes and recognize hazards that may lead to injury, then communicate to employees how to reduce risks
  • Promote a safe environment in collaboration with Site Managers, Service Quality Assurance team and Service technicians
  • Assist in developing and updating the training program, work Instructions, checklists, and visual aids
  • Manage the training calendar
  • Create, manage and maintain training attendance record
  • Participate in special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • University degree in occupational health and safety or college/professional diploma in fire safety or any other training in a related field
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in technical rescue, entry and rescue in confined spaces, work and rescue at height
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal HS regulations and legislation, WHMIS and TDG compliance
  • Experience in the wind industry will be considered an asset
  • Bilingual in oral and written (French and English)
  • Well-versed in the instructional design process
  • Facilitator of change and learning
  • Good communicator with interpersonal skills and ability to motivate/encourage
  • Ability to work at height
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite (mainly PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Ready to travel to Canada and Europe (estimated 5-10%)
