Capstone Infrastructure Corporation – Wind Farm Site Manager (London, ON)


  1. Operations and Maintenance:
  • Manage a team of skilled Technicians; setting a positive example of leadership
  • Maximize plant availability and power output while maintaining asset integrity.
  • Coordinate and manage spare parts inventory
  • Open, review, and close work orders within the CMMS application
  • Utilize data analytics tools to identify areas for operational improvement
  • Communicate plans and goals with upper management
  • Ensure all plant assets are adequately managed and safeguarded
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the wind facility, including substation equipment
  • Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, including wind turbines, met towers, electrical collection system, substation, collection system, and roadways
  • Manage third-party repair activities to ensure high standards are maintained
  • Liaise with local and provincial utility and system operator for scheduled and unscheduled outages and other plant operational issues

2.     Safety

  • Implement and adhere to Capstone safety policy and procedures
  • Establish expectations for and foster a safe and clean working environment, ensuring that contractors and personnel consistently adhere to safe work practices
  • Regularly monitor the use of appropriate safety and protective equipment
  • Maintain required training certifications and proficiencies for self and team
  • Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all safety policies, practices and procedures as established by safety oversight bodies

3.    Management & Administrations

  • Implement and adhere to plant policies and procedures
  • Analyze contractor staffing levels and qualifications to meet production targets
  • Work with the accounting team to oversee payments to landowners, municipalities, utilities, vendors, contractors and others.
  • Become familiar with and manage, where applicable, key agreements with warranty and O&M providers (including annual availability guarantee payment calculation), landowners, power purchaser, lenders, local communities, grid owner, and third-party contractors
  • Help develop the plant’s annual business plan, budget and a long-term capital maintenance plan
  • Attend corporate meetings of the plant owner as required
  • Monitor expenses, review P&L and production summary to budget and initiate corrective action as required
  • Oversee preparation of reporting to owner and lenders


  • Review all applicable regulatory paperwork
  • Stay abreast of federal, provincial and local laws, rules and regulations and good industry practices, including environment and safety, and ensure compliance at all times


  • Act as main point of contact for all project landowners.
  • Support and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders
  • Address concerns of community, legislative, taxation and regulatory bodies


  • Coordinate with Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with our Renewable Energy Approvals (REA’s)


  1. Work may involve lifting of heavy materials
  2. Ability to climb vertical ladders up to 100 meters
  3. Must be willing to monitor wind farm performance and reliability at all times and respond to call-outs as required.


 Professional Credentials

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (electrical engineering preferred), or equivalent work experience – Masters Degree desirable
  • Five years in a supervisory role in a non-union environment in power plant operations preferred
  • Business and financial expertise necessary to achieve excellence in operations and meet/exceed financial targets, including strategic planning and preparation of budgets
  • Certified to work with high voltage switchgear and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PP)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage several activities and projects at once, to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Interpersonal/Presentation Skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to successfully interact with all levels in the organization and with the public
  • Ability to effectively present information to owner, public groups and/or board of directors


Working conditions are normal for an office environment and may also include fieldwork as required.
